I do love drawing the male figure, but I hadn't drawn any somewhat-accurate (as in, not fangy monstrous) ones in a while. To brush up, I bought some strength-training and anatomy books and pored over them (though the actual pose is my own idea). Fun! Also, I know I am pretty terrible at drawing wings, and even though I wanted these to be stylized and symbolic, I still tried to push myself in regards to wing anatomy, so I re-drew them several times before transferring the final to a large piece of Strathmore Bristol (it's approx. 11" x 14").

I hope to add some shading or a light watercolor wash to this sometime; I'm feeling a bit rusty at painting for the moment, so rather than ruin this, I stopped and tinted it a bit in Photoshop.
